If you’ve been feeling cooped up at home, we’ve scheduled a bunch of events perfect for getting out of the house and meeting people who like to bike in Alexandria. Your options fall on a range of “interactive with other people” from marching in a large public parade to mingling to sitting quietly in a dark room.

George Washington Parade
Join us in the annual George Washington Birthday Parade in Old Town! The Spokeswomen will be proudly biking/marching with our banner, joined by other enthusiastic members of the Alexandria bike community.

Bike-Themed Film Screening at Duncan Library
We will be screening a classic film from 1948 widely revered as one of the greatest films of all time, about a man and his son’s search for a stolen bicycle. Roger Ebert described it as ‘alive with strength and freshness’ on the 50th anniversary of the film’s original release, and the film has a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
All ages and genders are welcome. Free event.
BPAC Happy Hour at Theisman’s
The Alexandria Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) is hosting another happy hour in Old Town at the end of this month. Our last one in the fall was a huge success, where we got to meet a lot of new people and grow the Spokeswomen!
All genders are welcome, 21+ if you intend to drink. Free event, buy your own food/drink.
