It should be a well-known fact that the Del Ray neighborhood goes above and beyond with holiday decorations. If you didn’t know until just now, come see it firsthand this Saturday on our holiday lights parade bike ride.
We will be decking out our bikes with lights, flashy and otherwise, for this nighttime bike ride. Then we’ll roll by the best displays of Del Rayian Decorating we can find. Look out for inflatable holiday dinosaurs, Santa riding a bike, a Peanuts display, and lots of puppies (it is Alexandria after all).
And just a few blocks away, the Del Ray Holiday Tree Lighting festival will be popping, bringing extra holiday cheer to our bike ride. They will have music, luminaries, and Santa on hand. After the ride, some of us may linger to enjoy the festivities and grab some dinner together.
Meet us at the corner of Mt. Vernon Ave and E Mason Ave (old Audi dealership) at 6pm 12/13. We’ll be the ones twinkling…. Bring your friends and family, men and women and children of all ages, ugly sweaters, and your own bikes, trikes, and unicycles. The ride will be short, mostly flat paved roads, and suitable for all ages and bike types.
